Manufacturing Engineer – Ford F-150, Kansas City Hybrid

Lead Ford F-150 electrical manufacturing improvements, tooling, and assembly launches. Drive gains in quality, cost, labor efficiency, and launch risk across North American plants.

Description

  • Lead manufacturing engineering activities for a new model program through Ok to Buy and the following 45 days
  • Implement tooling and facility changes required by product and process updates
  • Lead assembly builds at plants in Canada, Mexico, and the United States
  • Identify manufacturing issues and coordinate their resolution
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and activities
  • Create, revise, and maintain process sheets after Final Design Judgement
  • Develop scopes of work for tooling design, construction, and installation
  • Direct assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at plant sites
  • Support tooling buy-off activities at vendor facilities
  • Deliver improvements in quality, cost, and labor performance
  • Create plant layouts and lead Cycle Line Layout development
  • Lead or manage VME areas supporting early feasibility work during GPDS phases
  • Prepare and deliver management presentations through Ok to Buy
  • Support Program Cost Study responses and cross-functional alignment
  • Help resolve architecture and high-investment plant issues to reduce launch risk
  • Capture and present lessons learned to establish or update manufacturing standards
  • Travel extensively to the Kansas City Assembly Plant through 2028

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical, manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering
  • At least three years of automotive manufacturing engineering experience
  • At least three years of experience with tooling, processes, and facilities
  • At least three years of CAD experience
  • Strong working knowledge of statistics, including control charts and data collection
  • Familiarity with Ford systems such as AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, AIM, and CPARS
  • Experience in at least one area such as interior, exterior, chassis, powertrain, electrical, water test, or end of line
  • Experience implementing error-proofing solutions
  • Product launch experience with the ability to resolve issues
  • Manufacturing experience that includes CAD and tooling design
  • Experience collaborating with Tier 1 OEM suppliers and partners
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
