Lead enterprise architecture strategy, cloud modernization, and governance for Manulife’s global financial services operations. Shape technology roadmaps, investment decisions, and architecture standards across strategic initiatives.

Description

  • Define and refine target-state architecture for a business or technology domain
  • Create multi-year technology roadmaps for modernization, cloud adoption, operational resilience, and business growth
  • Set architecture standards, principles, patterns, and governance practices
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide strategic direction across major initiatives and programs
  • Assess emerging technologies and relevant industry developments
  • Direct architecture decisions covering cloud platforms, application modernization, integrations, APIs, and data architecture
  • Work with enterprise architecture teams to evaluate and adopt new technologies
  • Promote modern engineering practices and high standards of architectural quality
  • Verify that solutions meet enterprise architecture, security, regulatory, and governance requirements
  • Guide architecture decisions across multiple products, applications, and programs
  • Review architecture quality and recommend improvements to scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Identify technical debt and modernization opportunities, then prioritize related investments
  • Partner with senior business and technology leaders to convert priorities into capabilities and roadmaps
  • Shape investment decisions through architecture direction, technology evaluations, and recommendations
  • Develop effective partnerships across architecture, engineering, data, security, risk, and operations teams
  • Explain complex technology concepts to technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • Coach architects, senior developers, and engineering teams
  • Encourage innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
  • Provide architectural thought leadership and advance enterprise-wide practices and standards

Requirements

  • Background in application, solution, domain, or enterprise architecture within complex organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to define architecture strategies, target-state roadmaps, and modernization plans
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, application modernization, integrations, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Experience leading architecture governance and directing large-scale technology initiatives
  • Understanding of security, risk, compliance, and data privacy requirements
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience in Agile and product-based delivery environments
  • Experience using LeanIX, ServiceNow, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, Lucidchart, Jira, and Confluence
  • Preferred experience in financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry
  • Preferred experience supporting cloud transformation across Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Preferred knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
  • Preferred experience with AI, automation, and emerging technologies
  • Preferred architecture, cloud, or technology certifications
