Industrial Automation Field Service Engineer – Hybrid

Install, commission, troubleshoot, and support Delta industrial automation equipment for customers across North America. The role combines on-site service, technical problem-solving, customer training, and application support.

Description

  • Attend project meetings as needed while coordinating with sales, project management, and clients.
  • Install, commission, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify Delta industrial automation equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine-control problems.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and machine documentation.
  • Deliver on-site technical assistance and explain solutions to customers.
  • Support machine demonstrations, customer trials, and application testing.
  • Assist with new equipment installations across North America.
  • Confirm machine performance and safety functions during commissioning.
  • Train customers in machine operation, maintenance, basic programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Record service work, installations, troubleshooting findings, and corrective actions.
  • Work with Sales, Engineering, Service, factory teams, Technical Project Managers, and Field Application Engineering on technical and commissioning issues.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment rated up to 600V.
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance and modify existing equipment.
  • Provide on-site technical support for products.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, a technical electronics field, or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least four years of experience in manufacturing, data centers, or field service.
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and protocols for installation, service, and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for addressing managers, clients, and customers.
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring, pneumatics, and industrial equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to travel 80% and work evenings or weekends when required.
  • Experience in robotic manufacturer facilities, including electrical motors, controls, and drive systems.
  • Professional and courteous interaction with customers and coworkers.
  • Commitment to all company safety policies and requirements.
  • Ability to walk long distances across large facilities or job sites.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varied settings, including construction sites and hot or cold outdoor conditions.
