Group Product Manager, Data Feeds

Lead YipitData’s commercial data feeds portfolio and product management team. Shape product strategy, customer adoption, integrations, and revenue growth.

Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers
  • Define product ownership, goals, and decision-making standards
  • Establish processes for planning, roadmap reviews, customer feedback, and performance measurement
  • Recruit and grow product management talent
  • Own portfolio strategy in line with broader business priorities
  • Set product vision and guide roadmap development
  • Prioritize investments across roadmaps and shared capabilities
  • Validate use cases and commercial demand for new data sources
  • Identify portfolio gaps, overlap, and opportunities to combine datasets
  • Recommend products to scale, enhance, consolidate, or retire
  • Act as hands-on product manager for a strategically important data feed or quant-focused initiative
  • Lead customer discovery, analyze data, and convert customer needs into product decisions
  • Work with Data, Engineering, Data Science, and Quant Research to evaluate feasibility and launch products
  • Refine products using client evaluation and integration feedback
  • Share responsibility for portfolio revenue, retention, expansion, and product economics
  • Collaborate on pricing, packaging, positioning, sales, and evaluation processes
  • Define and monitor adoption, evaluation conversion, time to value, retention, and commercial performance
  • Set standards for data quality, coverage, timeliness, documentation, and delivery
  • Collaborate on quality controls, monitoring, change management, and issue resolution
  • Improve discovery, evaluation, onboarding, integration, and support for data feeds
  • Help clients understand methodologies, limitations, historical changes, and use cases
  • Create a consistent experience for quantitative and systematic customers
  • Coordinate Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Quant, Applications, and commercial teams
  • Work with Quant Research to address systematic investor requirements
  • Assess data opportunities based on customer needs, licensing constraints, quality, and economics
  • Present strategy, tradeoffs, progress, and risks to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bring significant product management experience, typically 7+ years, including ownership of commercial data products, data feeds, or similarly data-intensive B2B products
  • Have experience directly managing and developing product managers
  • Demonstrate a record of taking products from customer discovery through launch and scale, with measurable customer and business outcomes
  • Apply strong portfolio judgment and prioritization skills
  • Understand commercial levers including pricing, packaging, revenue growth, retention, and product economics
  • Use SQL proficiently and Python comfortably to investigate data and evaluate product questions
  • Bring technical fluency in data products, including schemas, methodologies, quality, delivery mechanisms, and the effects of product changes
  • Communicate effectively and lead across functions
  • Remain a hands-on product owner while building and leading a team
  • Preferred: experience with alternative data, financial data, or investment research products
  • Preferred: familiarity with fundamental, quantitative, or systematic investment workflows, including dataset evaluation, backtesting, and integration
  • Preferred: experience building portfolios for multiple customer segments or combining multiple data sources
  • Preferred: experience with third-party data partnerships, licensing considerations, and vendor dependencies
  • Preferred: familiarity with APIs, cloud-based data delivery, and data quality and operational reliability practices
