FinTech Product Engineering Academic Content Developer — Remote Peru

Description

  • Own the end-to-end design of Course 1 for Jala University's FinTech Engineering Specialization
  • Create production-quality learning content for senior software engineers
  • Teach card payments, regional instant-payment networks, ledger architecture, and compliance-aware engineering
  • Build labs, examples, and exercises using Go and TypeScript/Node.js
  • Develop a 10-week progressive lab where students create a multi-tenant core ledger and transaction API
  • Lead work on an event-sourced, double-entry ledger backend with a secure REST/JSON API, strict idempotency, BaaS data partitioning, and concurrency controls
  • Establish transparent assessment rubrics for every project milestone
  • Write publication-quality technical explanations, documentation, and regulatory context for Latin American markets

Requirements

  • Direct professional experience at a Latin American payments fintech, such as Clip, dLocal, Kushki, Ebanx, Stone, Conekta, or an equivalent company
  • At least five years of software engineering experience
  • At least three years working in FinTech or payments
  • Published technical writing samples demonstrating clear, publication-ready explanations
  • Strong reproducibility practices, including pinned dependencies, containers, seeded runs, and documented decoding parameters
  • Ability to create examples, labs, and exercises in both Go and TypeScript/Node.js
  • A production-oriented approach to designing systems for real-world engineering environments
  • Experience with card transaction lifecycles, including ISO 8583 authorization, capture, reversal, settlement, issuer-to-merchant flows, BIN routing, acquiring models, interchange, and familiarity with ISO 20022
  • Hands-on experience integrating PIX, SPEI, or Transferencias 3.0, including QR payloads, interoperability, and settlement flows
  • Expertise in multi-tenant, event-sourced, double-entry ledgers, including isolation levels, locking, idempotency, transaction state machines, and high-concurrency double-spend prevention
  • Understanding of Latin American clearing and settlement networks such as SLC, CERC, Prosa, ACH, and Coelsa, along with BaaS or Ledger-as-a-Service integration
  • Working knowledge of at least one Latin American regulatory framework—BACEN, CNBV, BCRA, or SFC—and of settlement finality, non-repudiation, and audit trails as engineering constraints
  • Familiarity with stablecoin settlement for cross-border payments is a plus
  • Experience producing RFCs, ADRs, and OpenAPI specifications is a plus
  • Spanish-language ability for market-specific regulatory notes is a plus
  • A master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus
