- Learn GMO’s data architecture, data flows, business processes, internal platforms, databases, and vendor applications
- Design and maintain automated data onboarding, validation, and enrichment across enterprise, internal, and third-party systems
- Develop monitoring, alerting, and control frameworks for data-quality issues, operational exceptions, and processing failures
- Investigate data across systems and databases to uncover root causes, recurring issues, control gaps, and automation opportunities
- Collaborate with Operations, Investment, Compliance, Client Service, and Data Engineering teams
- Convert business and operational needs into clear technical specifications
- Build and maintain Python, SQL, API, and data-platform solutions for validation, reconciliation, exception handling, reporting, and workflow automation
- Support data integrations, platform improvements, vendor connectivity, and modernization efforts
- Define and maintain governance standards for lineage, ownership, quality rules, controls, and metadata
- Produce technical documentation, support models, control procedures, data dictionaries, and operational runbooks
- Find ways to reduce manual work, improve scalability, strengthen controls, and increase process reliability
- Support cloud adoption, data migrations, and conversion projects through mapping, testing, automation, validation, and issue resolution
- Assess and deploy automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics capabilities
- Help develop reusable data-management frameworks, tools, and services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 3–7 years of experience in asset management, financial services, investment operations, data management, reference data, security master, portfolio data, market data, or investment technology
- Experience using Python or comparable tools for data analysis, validation, or automation
- Working knowledge of relational databases, with experience using Python and SQL to analyze data and investigate issues
- Experience handling financial, operational, or enterprise data across multiple systems
- Experience with investment data platforms such as NeoXam DataHub, BlackRock Aladdin, and Eagle PACE
- Familiarity with financial market-data providers including Bloomberg, LSEG, or ICE
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Careful attention to detail, with a focus on data quality, controls, and operational reliability
- Ability to document processes and requirements and work effectively with business and technology stakeholders
- Strong organization, written communication, and time-management skills
- Self-directed, conscientious, collaborative, intellectually curious, and committed to high-quality work
- Willingness to participate in rotational after-hours support when needed
