Commercial Lines Account Manager (Florida Remote)

Manage large commercial construction insurance accounts in New York and New Jersey from a remote position based in Florida. Oversee renewals, policies, coverage, billing, and client service for The Liberty Company Insurance Brokers.

Description

  • Deliver prompt, accurate, and courteous service to clients, producers, and company staff.
  • Obtain, maintain, expand, and service existing accounts in line with agency procedures and carrier requirements.
  • Manage mid-size and large commercial construction insurance accounts.
  • Support client service, guidance, and training in partnership with the Account Executive or Department Lead.
  • Prepare submissions for new and renewal business, market accounts, and develop proposals.
  • Prepare change requests and verify audits and policies for accuracy.
  • Create and organize new account files in Applied EPIC.
  • Invoice agency-billed transactions within 48 hours and collect premiums.
  • Alert producers to unpaid audits and request appropriate follow-up.
  • Review upcoming renewals with producers at least 120 days before expiration and establish marketing strategies.
  • Prepare and process cancellations and follow up on cancellation notices.
  • Address carrier memos and complete required updates.
  • Handle client requests for ID cards, evidence of property, certificates of insurance, and binders.
  • Review policies and related documents before delivering them to insureds.
  • Assess exposures, negotiate and interpret coverage, and review coverage with clients.
  • Assess client needs and recommend appropriate additional coverage.
  • Keep producers informed about significant account activity.
  • Review aged receivables, renewal and expiration reports, and suspense reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of client activity and correspondence in EPIC.
  • Use the EPIC suspense system to follow up on outstanding items.
  • Organize workload and reduce outstanding backlogs.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform other assigned duties.
  • Stay informed about rate, form, and coverage changes through bulletins, trade publications, and seminars.
  • Respond to phone calls and emails within 24 hours.
  • Complete client requests within 24 hours.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • A professional insurance designation is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience with and knowledge of large commercial construction insurance in the New York and New Jersey markets.
  • Experience with Applied EPIC or a comparable agency management system.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance products and practices.
  • Knowledge of construction insurance in New York and New Jersey is highly desirable.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Positive, constructive approach to work.
  • Must satisfy applicable state insurance licensing requirements for roles that require a license.
  • Must not be disqualified or barred from licensure, or prohibited from conducting the insurance business under Title 18 U.S. Code §§1033 and 1034.
