AI Engineer (LLM and RAG) - London Hybrid

Build production RAG pipelines, intelligent agents, and LLM-powered features for ECA International’s global mobility technology. Work with engineering and product teams to deliver secure, responsible AI solutions.

Description

  • Create, develop, and ship AI features using Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, and open-weight models
  • Build and enhance RAG pipelines with embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval methods
  • Develop intelligent agents and workflows with AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, and orchestration frameworks
  • Use Claude Code as part of the daily software engineering workflow
  • Assess and monitor AI performance while improving quality, reliability, latency, and cost
  • Support secure, trustworthy AI delivery through privacy safeguards and appropriate governance
  • Partner with engineers, product teams, and other specialists to turn concepts into production-ready solutions
  • Explore new approaches, exchange ideas, and question established methods

Requirements

  • Approximately 2–5 years of software development experience, including practical work on LLM-powered applications
  • Strong Python and/or TypeScript development ability
  • Sound knowledge of core software engineering practices
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini
  • Experience building and deploying RAG systems with embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval optimisation
  • Practical experience operating open-source or open-weight models such as Llama, Mistral, or Qwen
  • Experience using Claude Code, including workflows, plugins, skills, and related development capabilities
  • Experience integrating models and related services through AWS Bedrock
  • Understanding of responsible AI practices covering governance, privacy, security, and safeguards
  • Experience contributing within an Agile software engineering environment
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in a fast-changing discipline
  • Ability to collaborate, own deliverables, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
  • Bonus: experience developing agentic AI, multi-agent systems, or orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or Strands Agents
  • Bonus: experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
  • Bonus: familiarity with LLM evaluation and observability tools
  • Bonus: experience building MCP servers or connecting external tools to AI agents
  • Bonus: familiarity with Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Docker, or Terraform
