Accounting Manager at Progressive Leasing (Hybrid, Atlanta)

Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close operations, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance for Progressive Leasing’s lease-to-own fintech business. Develop accounting talent and advance AI-enabled process automation.

Description

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP close activities, including scheduling, journal entry review, reconciliations, and consolidation
  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members through onboarding, training, goal-setting, feedback, and policy communication
  • Review and approve flux and variance analyses with commentary for senior leadership
  • Help prepare monthly and quarterly presentation materials for the Controller
  • Support 10-K and 10-Q filings by preparing financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 controls and coordinate updates with Internal Audit
  • Lead enhancements to close, consolidation, financial reporting, and operational processes
  • Promote adoption of AI-enabled accounting and workflow automation tools while shaping the technology roadmap
  • Gather business requirements, convert financial concepts into solution designs, and recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Operations, and other teams to support accurate reporting and align on business impacts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; a master’s degree or MBA is preferred
  • 7–10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including 3–5+ years in a publicly traded, SEC-reporting organization
  • At least 3 years of direct people management experience, with a record of leading and developing accounting professionals
  • At least 3 years of SOX 404 compliance experience covering ICFR design, RCM ownership, and external auditor management
  • Experience supporting 10-K and 10-Q filings and meeting accelerated reporting deadlines
  • Experience with a large ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or a comparable platform; Workday experience is preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with close management tools such as BlackLine or FloQast is preferred
  • Experience with AI-enabled accounting tools, intelligent automation, or data analytics platforms is preferred
  • Strong integrity when handling material nonpublic information in accordance with public-company disclosure obligations
  • CPA required; Big Four or national public accounting experience is strongly preferred
