Director of IT and Enterprise Systems

Lead enterprise technology, cybersecurity, vendors, and digital transformation at American Jewish University. Set technology strategy and oversee projects and outsourced infrastructure services.

Description

  • Set and maintain the University's multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Connect technology initiatives to institutional priorities and operational needs.
  • Advise executive leaders on technology trends, opportunities, risks, and investments.
  • Establish IT governance practices, standards, and policies.
  • Support annual IT operating and capital budget planning.
  • Oversee the managed service provider's delivery, performance, projects, upgrades, cloud work, and implementations.
  • Direct cybersecurity strategy, assessments, remediation, monitoring, incident response, awareness, disaster recovery, and compliance.
  • Guide enterprise systems spanning HubSpot CRM, finance, HR, learning, events, identity, project management, AI, marketing, and communications.
  • Assess business needs, improve system adoption, find automation opportunities, evaluate integrations, recommend enhancements, and manage licenses and access.
  • Work with the HubSpot Administrator on requirements, priorities, delivery, workflow automation, reporting, dashboards, integrations, and adoption.
  • Lead institution-wide software deployments, upgrades, cloud migrations, integrations, process redesign, AI and workflow automation, and modernization.
  • Manage technology vendors and consultants, RFPs, agreements, performance, and investment recommendations.
  • Strengthen data governance, reporting, data quality, and business processes.
  • Build partnerships across University departments and turn business needs into technology solutions.
  • Update executive leadership on technology initiatives, risks, and priorities.
  • Promote a customer-service approach to technology support and innovation.
  • Report to the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • A master's degree or relevant technical certifications is preferred.
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in IT, enterprise systems, or digital transformation.
  • Experience managing technology vendors or outsourced technology services.
  • Experience leading or contributing to enterprise software implementations or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing complex technology projects.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business teams.
  • Experience overseeing cybersecurity initiatives or collaborating closely with cybersecurity partners.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot is preferred.
  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit organizations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications and systems integration.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience using technology to improve business processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by video conference, and by phone.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
