ABB Senior Field Service Technician – Power Systems (Remote, United States)
Senior Field Service Technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and commissioning ABB power delivery and control equipment. Provides technical leadership to customers and field teams across the Southeast.
Description
- Lead programs and provide technical guidance and support to ABB customers, users, and field personnel
- Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair assigned product lines, including power delivery, drive, and control systems
- Adhere to ABB and customer environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
- Install, maintain, repair, and commission power delivery equipment
- Support outage response, control systems, and power quality systems
- Build effective working relationships with team members
- Carry out instructions from Field Engineers, Lead Field Engineers, and senior management
- Strengthen client relationships that generate referral opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in power systems, startup and commissioning, testing, and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two-year degree plus five years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma plus 10 years of relevant experience in power systems, startup and commissioning, testing, and maintenance
- Experience with electrical controls and systems, including medium- and low-voltage switchgear, power panels, motor control centers, generators, transformers, electromechanical repairs, relay testing and installation, instruments, PLCs, DCS, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and test equipment
- Ability and willingness to travel 60% of the time
- Most travel will take place within Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida
- Existing US work authorization that permits employment with ABB
