Healthcare Claims Data Analyst

Build SQL and Python analytics to identify potential healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse across a large claims warehouse. This remote U.S. role supports the Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership at General Dynamics Information Technology.

Tavsif

  • Develop fraud, waste, and abuse analytics for the Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership, from initial concept through delivery.
  • Analyze a claims warehouse containing billions of records from public and private healthcare payers.
  • Turn partner and client requests into focused analytic questions.
  • Assess which questions the available data can answer and flag data limitations early.
  • Create analytic logic in SQL and Python to examine billions of claims.
  • Test and refine analytics with fraud, waste, and abuse subject matter experts.
  • Separate unusual claim patterns from those explained by clinical practice, coverage policy, or claim edits.
  • Record methodology, assumptions, and data lineage so analyses can be reproduced.
  • Document findings and present results to internal stakeholders.
  • Join partner discussions to clarify analytic needs.
  • Handle multiple requests and firm deadlines in a partner- and client-driven queue.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business intelligence developers, and fraud, waste, and abuse subject matter experts.

Talablar

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or health-related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least four years writing SQL for large relational datasets, including CTEs, window functions, and large-scale multi-table joins.
  • Understand query performance well enough to identify why a query is slow.
  • Use Python proficiently for data analysis and write clear, reproducible code.
  • Translate unclear requests into defined analytic questions.
  • Recognize when available data cannot answer a question.
  • Document analysis so another person can reproduce the work.
  • Learn an unfamiliar data domain quickly.
  • Explain analytical findings clearly in writing and conversation to people outside analytics.
  • Work accurately and stay organized while managing concurrent requests.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Reside in the United States.
  • Preferred: experience with healthcare claims data and coding systems; fraud, waste, and abuse, program or payment integrity, or utilization review; Snowflake, SnowSQL, or a comparable cloud data warehouse; Git and collaborative code review; payer coverage policies and claim edits; Tableau or other data visualization tools.
