Senior Front-End Software Engineer, Retention
Build and improve retention features for KAYAK’s travel search products. Partner with product and design teams to deliver, test, and optimize user-facing experiences.
Opis
- Own complex frontend features from scoping and technical design through release, monitoring, and follow-up.
- Write maintainable, thoroughly tested code and review teammates’ changes.
- Guide technical design discussions, weigh tradeoffs, and record decisions.
- Proactively reduce technical debt and address performance and reliability risks.
- Support junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
- Work with product managers and designers to clarify requirements, identify risks, and meet user and business needs.
- Take part in sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and demos.
- Improve team workflows, tools, and engineering standards.
- Make the case for technical improvements with clear reasoning and evidence.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity and code quality.
- Keep up with emerging frontend technologies and practices.
Zahteve
- Have independently designed and delivered complex frontend features in production; equivalent experience, transferable skills, and non-traditional career paths are welcome.
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills.
- Experience building interfaces with a modern component-based framework such as React.
- Understand how frontend systems connect with APIs and backend services.
- Experience debugging and improving performance across frontend and backend boundaries.
- Experience creating and maintaining unit, integration, or end-to-end automated tests.
- Care about code quality and long-term maintainability.
- Communicate technical ideas clearly in design documents, code reviews, and team discussions.

- Fluent English communication skills.
