Opis

  • Lead development of the end-to-end ad matching stack.
  • Build machine learning models, serving systems, and the platform beneath them.
  • Develop retrieval, ranking, and re-ranking systems to match ads with recipients.
  • Create embedding and vector search infrastructure for real-time ad selection in publisher newsletters.
  • Improve click-through rates, advertiser return on ad spend, publisher revenue, and subscriber relevance through a unified ranking system.
  • Manage the feature store and model serving path, covering offline training, online inference, and consistency between the two.
  • Keep data pipelines reliable and healthy.
  • Use large language models and foundation models for subscriber tagging, content understanding, and user modeling.
  • Take new initiatives from prototype to production, including online learning, feedback loops, dependable ETL and ELT pipelines, and dbt or warehouse transformations.
  • Create dashboards and automated scorecards to track performance, click-through rates, tag coverage, and other key metrics in real time.
  • Partner with the CTO, CEO, and engineering team to prioritize and sequence recommendation system scaling work.
  • Develop toward a leadership position, with the opportunity to build and lead a machine learning team.

Zahteve

  • At least three years of experience with recommendation, ranking, or advertising systems.
  • Five to 16 years of experience in production machine learning or data engineering.
  • Experience owning several parts of a recommendation system end to end, including retrieval, ranking, serving, and evaluation.
  • Experience with ad recommendation models, such as ad ranking, click-through or conversion prediction, or ad matching.
  • Experience with embeddings and real-time vector search tools such as FAISS, Milvus, Pinecone, pgvector, or similar.
  • Founder experience or experience working at an early-stage startup.
  • Located in the New York City area or a nearby U.S. time zone, with the ability to travel to New York City quarterly.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and a SQL and dbt transformation layer, or an equivalent.
  • Previous experience building a machine learning team.
  • A master's or Ph.D. in computer science or machine learning is preferred but not required.
