Opis

  • Answer incoming text and chat messages on the 988 Lifeline platform in a timely manner
  • Use active listening, empathy, and evidence-based techniques to support people in crisis
  • Assess suicide risk and refer high-risk situations to supervisors or emergency services when needed
  • Apply professional boundaries, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care
  • Connect people with local mental health services, shelters, substance use treatment, and other resources
  • Record interactions accurately and promptly in electronic systems, following agency and legal requirements
  • Take part in regular supervision, debriefings, and training
  • Protect confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and 988 Lifeline standards

Zahteve

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong typing ability
  • Strong written communication
  • Crisis de-escalation ability
  • Ability to work comfortably with diverse groups, including LGBTQIA+ people, youth, and people experiencing mental health or substance-related crises
  • Bilingual or multilingual ability is preferred
  • Reliable internet access and a private, quiet workspace
  • Compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
  • Availability for variable shifts: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday
