Staff Backend Software Engineer, Fraud Decisioning

Apraksts

  • Lead projects and initiatives for the Fraud Decisioning team.
  • Build tools and systems that strengthen Affirm’s fraud prevention capabilities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor fraud decisioning systems.
  • Use analytics and data to improve fraud decisioning performance and quality.
  • Plan and deliver large cross-functional initiatives, from project definition and technical specifications through task planning, delivery, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Design systems that are simple, effective, and maintainable.
  • Write clear, high-quality code.
  • Review colleagues’ work and offer constructive feedback.
  • Lead and mentor engineers to support their development.
  • Consider stakeholder needs and perspectives, and advocate for ideas and initiatives.
  • Assess candidates’ technical and interpersonal skills to inform hiring decisions.
  • Develop and review technical interview materials and requirements.

Prasības

  • Bring 6–10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Have experience architecting, building, launching, coding, and maintaining complex systems.
  • Have experience collaborating with Product, ML, Analytics, and Business teams.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership and team-building skills, including mentoring others in software development best practices.
  • Translate complex business, product, and technical needs into high-quality system designs and software.
  • Architect systems and break business and product requirements into system modules or components.
  • Have a related bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Reside in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan.
