Senior Regional Rail Engineer - Remote, United States

Lead railroad design, project delivery, client relationships, and business development while expanding rail engineering operations across multiple U.S. regions.

Aprašymas

  • Provide regional leadership for railroad projects and contribute to strategic growth initiatives in the assigned region.
  • Direct the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of rail projects, including industrial tracks, terminals, spurs, mainlines, yards, and sidings.
  • Coordinate railroad, Department of Transportation, and municipal public agency projects involving at-grade crossings, grade separations, and utility crossings.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor on rail design, grading, drainage, and associated infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, railroad operators, public agencies, and industry partners.
  • Contribute to business development through client outreach, proposals, project pursuits, industry organizations, and conferences.
  • Mentor engineers, designers, and junior staff while providing technical leadership across offices and project teams.
  • Work with Project Managers and regional leaders on staffing, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies across multiple states to maintain regulatory and railroad-standard compliance.
  • Direct the application and enforcement of QA/QC procedures throughout project development and delivery.
  • Help establish consistent rail engineering practices, design methods, and project delivery procedures.
  • Travel periodically for client meetings, site visits, regional coordination, and industry events.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned.

Reikalavimai

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience with rail, transit, railroad infrastructure, and transportation or land development engineering projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary rail engineering projects and manage client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of design standards for track, at-grade railroad crossings, grade-separated structures, and utility crossings.
  • Experience mentoring technical staff and leading engineering teams across multiple projects or offices is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD platforms and standard engineering software applications.
  • Strong business development, communication, leadership, and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with railroad personnel, clients, agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed for project delivery and client engagement.
