  • Direct departmental performance, resource allocation, work prioritization, and performance measurement
  • Manage the team’s daily workload and activities
  • Recruit, coach, train, develop, and evaluate direct reports
  • Act as the department’s escalation lead and strategic point of contact
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional process improvement programs
  • Create and deliver training plans and supporting materials
  • Offer coaching, mentoring, performance guidance, and career development support
  • Collaborate with HR on talent management, performance, employee relations, and development matters
  • Assess clinical-trial testing needs and identify suitable testing facilities
  • Prepare and review pricing documentation and resolve discrepancies
  • Build and maintain relationships with ACM and referral laboratories
  • Supply scientific and technical details for client RFP and RFI responses
  • Coordinate testing methods and record referred-testing details throughout active studies
  • Facilitate information flow between Laboratory Operations and Sales
  • Escalate study, testing, and referral-laboratory concerns and support root-cause investigations
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners and join client teleconferences
  • Advise clinical-trial operations teams and external clients
  • Maintain global SOPs, templates, and operational tools
  • Review upcoming work and assess staffing capacity and workload
  • Act as a subject-matter expert and escalation contact for internal and external clients
  • Complete additional assigned responsibilities

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or have at least 3 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  • Bring at least 5 years of laboratory experience in a clinical or otherwise regulated environment
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Use effective time-management and organizational skills
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Use Microsoft Office proficiently
  • Have generalist laboratory experience
  • Lead and positively motivate colleagues
  • Demonstrate a constructive, solutions-oriented approach
  • MT (ASCP) certification is preferred
  • Be available Monday through Friday during daytime hours for 37.5 hours per week
  • Be able to perform primarily sedentary, office-based work involving extended sitting and computer use
  • Follow company policies and procedures while protecting patient confidentiality
