Description

  • Assess coverage and communicate clear coverage positions
  • Lead investigations into loss circumstances and damage severity
  • Verify coverage through policy and supporting-document reviews
  • Help develop claims guidance and best-practice procedures
  • Coordinate loss details for stakeholders and present findings to underwriters and insureds
  • Provide technical training to internal colleagues and external contacts
  • Assign and oversee work performed by experts and external counsel
  • Manage vendors and litigation involving moderately to highly complex claims
  • Assess coverage, liability, and damages to establish the insured’s exposure
  • Negotiate and resolve claims, generally in litigation
  • Draft coverage position letters for litigated matters without external coverage counsel
  • Compile information and produce clear claims reports
  • Present trial-bound cases to senior claims leaders and underwriters at roundtables
  • Provide responsive service throughout the claims lifecycle while meeting service-level agreements
  • Set reserves within delegated authority or recommend adjustments to the manager
  • Attend mediations, trials, and conferences when required
  • Review and analyze records, policy terms, and other documentation to close claims efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Support special projects and assist fellow team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience
  • Hold or qualify for a claims adjuster license
  • At least five years of claims-handling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of successful experience as a Claims Examiner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
  • Commitment to ongoing improvement
  • US work authorization is required
