Senior Power System Engineer at Hitachi – Solna Onsite

Lead advanced power-system studies for Hitachi Energy, covering HVDC, FACTS, renewable integration, green hydrogen, and broader grid applications. Provide technical direction and trusted advisory support across complex energy projects.

Description

  • Lead major, complex assignments supporting the green energy transition.
  • Collaborate with consultants and specialists across local and international Power Consulting offices.
  • Provide expert knowledge and technical guidance throughout projects.
  • Conduct advanced system studies involving HVDC, FACTS, renewable-energy integration, green hydrogen, and power systems more broadly.
  • Turn specialist expertise into robust technical analyses and practical recommendations.
  • Lead technical work in customer engagements and independently address complex challenges.
  • Act as a trusted technical adviser to customers and colleagues.
  • Contribute actively to strengthening and expanding the organization’s collective expertise.
  • Review the quality of technical deliverables while supporting and mentoring other engineers.
  • Take ownership of the quality of your own technical work and that of the team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in the energy sector and at least nine years of experience in consulting or the energy industry.
  • Knowledge of power-system analysis and experience with simulation tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, and/or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
  • Programming experience in Python, C++, or a comparable language is an advantage.
  • Analytical, self-directed, and proactive when solving problems.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English.
