Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer at TeamViewer in Austin

Lead full-stack development for TeamViewer’s digital workplace services and web applications in a senior Austin-based role. Shape architecture, cloud operations, testing, and responsible AI-assisted engineering practices.

Description

  • Develop and operate backend services and APIs with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot, or Node.js and TypeScript
  • Create robust web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Help evolve the design system and micro-frontend architecture
  • Make architecture and design decisions for scalable, resilient, and secure services
  • Use domain-driven and event-driven design principles
  • Model data and choose suitable SQL or NoSQL storage solutions
  • Build asynchronous integrations with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ
  • Manage service deployment and operations with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Enhance CI/CD workflows and production observability
  • Define testing approaches spanning unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests
  • Advance responsible AI-assisted development and establish team practices
  • Coach and mentor engineers
  • Lead technical code reviews
  • Encourage consistent engineering practices across teams
  • Deliver features end to end and influence technical direction across the stack

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least six years of professional software development experience across backend and frontend systems
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives
  • Strong backend development skills with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot, or Node.js and TypeScript
  • Strong experience building applications with React and TypeScript
  • Experience with modern state-management tools such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or TanStack Query
  • Experience with design systems or micro-frontends is advantageous
  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, API design, and software architecture
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases and NoSQL systems
  • Practical experience with Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and production observability
  • Knowledge of security best practices for backend and web applications
  • Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
  • A clear understanding of responsible team use of AI coding tools
  • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing in agile teams
  • Ability to work in Austin, Texas
  • Ability to verify identity and authorization to work in the United States
