Senior Big Data Engineer - Hybrid in Spain
Lead the design and delivery of real-time big data projects, including ETL pipelines, data integrations, and high-performance services. Maintain data quality, production reliability, and scalable processing for large datasets.
Description
- Own the analysis, design, development, and support of major real-time big data projects
- Strengthen team delivery through thoughtful code reviews
- Advocate for consistent engineering best practices
- Build reliable solutions across the full range of big data initiatives
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows, data integrations, and processing pipelines
- Support the efficient movement and processing of very large data volumes
- Create optimized services for processing, storing, and analyzing large datasets
- Develop business-focused data validation and quality assurance checks
- Diagnose live production issues and restore systems quickly
- Evaluate and introduce technologies that support present and future projects
Requirements
- Advanced expertise with big data technologies including Spark, Kafka, NiFi, ClickHouse, and big data datastores
- Strong knowledge of schema design approaches and data modeling
- Expertise in using SQL to extract large datasets
- Familiarity with relational SQL databases
- Object-oriented programming experience, preferably with Python and/or Java
- Substantial experience with cloud computing and/or distributed systems
