Description

  • Manage and process high-volume data with ETL tooling.
  • Turn client business goals into information management and business intelligence strategies.
  • Maintain reliable data pipelines and secure information access.
  • Build and publish metrics and dashboards while protecting data quality and integrity.
  • Support data platform modernization through Lakehouse architecture, governance, quality, and preparation for analytics and AI.
  • Develop dimensional models for business teams, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Support the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and processing through storage, transformation, consumption, and governance.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in data engineering and AWS.
  • Hands-on experience collecting, transforming, and loading data with ETL tools, Python, and PySpark.
  • Working knowledge of AWS Glue, EMR, Athena, SNS, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Lake Formation, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL data modeling and databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Hadoop.
  • Understanding of Lakehouse architecture with Apache Iceberg, including table management, versioning, schema evolution, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with large-scale query engines such as Athena, Trino, Presto, or Spark SQL, including query optimization and columnar formats such as Parquet and ORC.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling concepts, including facts, dimensions, granularity, keys, hierarchies, metrics, and indicators.
  • Experience handling structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Experience conducting unit and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of cloud security practices, access controls, and monitoring.
  • AWS Practitioner or AWS Data Engineer certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with data quality and observability is advantageous.
  • Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudWatch is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of applying AI to data is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
