Sales Director, Computing Solutions — Boston, MA

Lead Supermicro’s server, storage, and networking sales across New England. Grow enterprise accounts, qualify opportunities, and negotiate technology partnerships.

Description

  • Maintain an effective and reliable sales process through marketing initiatives and cross-functional coordination
  • Assess new and existing opportunities for Supermicro’s computing solutions
  • Understand prospects’ business needs and objectives
  • Negotiate terms for successful customer partnerships
  • Expand the account base across the assigned territory
  • Engage customers in government, data center and cloud, gaming, and high-performance computing markets
  • Make outbound calls to system integrators, VARs, OEMs, and other prospective customers
  • Develop target-account lists and pursue new opportunities across vertical markets
  • Assess and qualify sales opportunities
  • Strengthen customer relationships and share product and marketing information
  • Track inventory, negotiate pricing, manage orders, resolve credit matters, and negotiate returns
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, and Programs teams

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a comparable field is preferred
  • At least 12 years of computer-industry sales experience, including prospecting, lead qualification, contract negotiation, and deal closure, is preferred
  • Experience monitoring and reporting lead-activity data
  • Demonstrated success selling technology solutions to corporate accounts
  • Strong communication skills across disciplines, cultures, and geographic regions
  • Proven ability to cold-call and follow up credibly with executives and decision-makers
  • Knowledge of OEM, Web 2.0, large-enterprise, and data center markets
  • Demonstrated proficiency in pre-call planning, opportunity qualification, objection handling, call control, and time and territory management
  • Consistent record of meeting or surpassing sales targets
  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English; bilingual ability is an advantage
