Revenue and Technical Accounting Manager (San Francisco Hybrid)

Lead revenue recognition, complex contract accounting, technical memos, and audit readiness for Abridge’s generative AI healthcare platform. Build agentic accounting workflows that improve contract analysis and accounting review.

Description

  • Lead revenue accounting through monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including complex entries, deferred revenue and unbilled rollforwards, and flux analysis.
  • Evaluate new and amended customer contracts for performance obligations, transaction price, standalone selling price allocation, and non-standard terms.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex contract modifications.
  • Manage accounting for customer consideration, including service credits and equity-based incentives such as warrants.
  • Maintain and update standalone selling price analyses.
  • Manage partner revenue-share arrangements and capitalized contract costs under ASC 340-40.
  • Research and prepare technical accounting memos on stock compensation, financings, preferred stock, M&A, purchase accounting, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 350-40.
  • Work with auditors and external advisors to resolve technical positions before audits conclude.
  • Maintain revenue recognition and related accounting policies.
  • Translate complex accounting conclusions for commercial, product, and executive audiences.
  • Create agentic systems that extract contract terms and prepare proposed accounting treatments and entries for review.
  • Establish agent workflows, human-review checkpoints, controls, audit trails, and exception handling.
  • Share responsibility for monitoring and continuously improving the revenue agent.
  • Work with Systems to connect Salesforce and contract management data flows to the ERP.
  • Build agent-assisted workflows for technical research and memo documentation.
  • Serve as the primary Big Four audit contact for revenue and technical accounting, managing PBC schedules, walkthroughs, and technical questions.
  • Prepare revenue and technical accounting disclosures for annual financial statements and footnotes.
  • Design and document revenue controls, including controls for agentic systems, in support of public-company readiness.
  • Report to the Senior Manager of Revenue & Technical Accounting and collaborate with GL Accounting, FinOps, Systems, RevOps, Legal, Deal Desk, and Big Four auditors.

Requirements

  • Big Four assurance or accounting advisory experience at the Senior or Manager level.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise spanning revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, financings, M&A, and leases.
  • Active CPA license.
  • Practical ASC 606 experience in any industry.
  • Experience preparing auditor-accepted technical memos or evaluating technical memos as an auditor.
  • Experience developing apps, scripts, or automations, or strong interest in building agentic AI workflows.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or AI tools.
  • Ability to design complete workflows covering data, controls, and exception handling.
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting conclusions clearly.
  • Ability to work regularly from the San Francisco office on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday hybrid schedule.
