Project Executive, Life Science Construction – New Brunswick, NJ (Hybrid)

Lead life science construction projects in a hybrid Project Executive role, overseeing financial performance, safety, quality, preconstruction, and delivery. Direct business development, multiple project teams, and client relationships from pursuit through close-out.

Description

  • Provide strategic direction and supervision for projects, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Administrators
  • Set operational priorities and manage relationships with owners, OPMs, subcontractors, and consultants
  • Develop and implement plans that support financial performance
  • Take overall responsibility for jobsite safety and quality while resolving critical issues
  • Oversee project reporting requirements
  • Support the development of standard operating procedures for the Project Management Department
  • Lead business development pursuits, proposals, and interviews
  • Develop leads and pursue opportunities through industry contacts and relationships
  • Lead work acquisition, including profitability planning, proposal development, and interview preparation
  • Define and communicate strategies for RFP pursuits
  • Assign qualified staff according to project scope and complexity
  • Manage preconstruction with estimating and preconstruction teams, covering budgets, schedules, logistics, risks, and constructability reviews
  • Oversee projects from preconstruction through close-out
  • Develop and execute customer satisfaction action plans
  • Identify project challenges and recommend solutions that support objectives and profitability
  • Negotiate owner contracts and oversee subcontract development and administration
  • Provide senior-level oversight across multiple projects
  • Attend owner meetings and visit project sites regularly to assess performance, costs, schedules, quality, safety, and profitability
  • Maintain client communication throughout each project
  • Develop relationships with owners, OPMs, consultants, government authorities, and subcontractors
  • Mentor, train, and coach employees while conducting performance evaluations every six months
  • Ensure staff training and adherence to corporate Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support the sourcing and interviewing of prospective hires

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required
  • 15+ years of experience in a lead management role for a construction manager or CM at Risk firm
  • Experience leading multiple teams on large-scale projects
  • Proficiency in cost reporting is required
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
  • Basic understanding of scheduling software, principles, and logic is required
  • Strong communication skills
