Lead telecoms, cloud, and IoT architecture for Vodacom Business customers in an onsite principal role. Manage architecture teams and assure secure, scalable end-to-end solutions.

Description

  • Lead teams in designing and implementing comprehensive technology solutions for complex customer needs
  • Validate end-to-end Vodacom Business solutions against architectural frameworks and best practices
  • Support sales, product, and architecture teams in developing capabilities across mobile, connectivity, fixed, cloud, and IoT services
  • Guide solution architects in defining functional requirements and developing solution designs
  • Oversee complex, multi-tower solutions in line with business objectives and architecture standards
  • Drive programmes that connect service offerings and improve customer experiences
  • Develop and apply architectural frameworks and principles that promote solution integrity and reuse
  • Work with product, engineering, architecture, and project teams on guardrails, features, and delivery plans
  • Analyse root causes and develop solution options for complex delivery and live-service issues
  • Maintain compliance with Enterprise and Integration Architecture standards
  • Define and enforce architecture guidelines, standards, and controls
  • Ensure application architectures remain consistent with Vodacom Business standards
  • Assure solution architecture, documentation, and ways-of-working improvement initiatives
  • Align cross-team resourcing with demand to optimise solution architecture team utilisation

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least seven years of experience in technology architecture and systems
  • Substantial experience managing an architecture team
  • Extensive experience in domain architecture and design
  • In-depth knowledge of the TOGAF framework
  • Strong knowledge of fixed data communications, including SD-WAN, MPLS, and IP VPN technologies
  • Strong knowledge of voice communications, including IPT, NGN, IN, and SIP technologies
  • Strong knowledge of mobile data communications, including available spectrums, 5G, and managed or secure mobility
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud, cybersecurity, and managed services
  • Extensive knowledge of unified communications solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of IoT
  • At least three years of management experience
  • Business development capability grounded in customer business requirements
  • Extensive telecoms or IT design experience with proven technical coordination
  • Experience managing change in a technology environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to lead in high-growth, high-uncertainty environments
  • Ability to work effectively in international, distributed virtual teams
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills, including engagement with director-level stakeholders
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Postgraduate qualifications are desirable
