Portfolio Analyst - Santa Rosa, CA (Hybrid)

Evaluate and manage commercial and agricultural real estate loan portfolios for American AgCredit. The role combines credit analysis, loan servicing, customer relationships, and business development.

Description

  • Evaluate high-volume and complex commercial and real estate loan applications
  • Maintain commercial and real estate loans through regular customer communication
  • Generate new business through structured marketing and business development initiatives
  • Oversee an assigned loan portfolio as appropriate
  • Renew operating and term loans
  • Interview applicants and prepare loan applications, financial statements, and budgets
  • Create spreadsheet analyses of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements
  • Enter required information into loan origination and processing systems
  • Assess credit and financial information, conduct investigations, summarize findings, present facts, and provide creditworthiness opinions
  • Review applications and supporting materials, then recommend or approve or decline loans within delegated authority
  • Identify and review required legal documentation
  • Validate financial statements, examine credit reports, and gather pertinent information
  • Explain credit policies and stock requirements to customers
  • Promote lending products and related financial services
  • Prepare loan servicing actions and monitor assigned portfolios through completion
  • Coordinate with title companies
  • Track loan progress and support loan officers with customer service matters
  • Independently handle requests for information and assistance
  • Perform collateral inspections
  • Represent the Association at community and public events
  • Deliver credit training and staff development programs
  • Attend employee loan committee and loan committee meetings
  • Exercise independent judgment under the general direction of the VP-Regional Credit Underwriting or designee
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bring at least 5–7 years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience
  • Hold a BA or BS in agribusiness, business administration, or an equivalent field
  • Apply strong credit assessment and analytical capabilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of agricultural lending principles and practices, as well as Association and Farm Credit System policies and procedures
  • Understand FCA regulations and applicable Association and district policies and procedures
  • Organize and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and conversation
  • Use strong persuasion and interpersonal skills when working with others
  • Work proficiently with a PC, including word-processing, email, and electronic spreadsheet applications
  • Perform basic office duties in a typical office environment
  • Work established business hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours
  • Be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or transfer is unavailable
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
