Onsite Privacy and Compliance Analyst

Support data protection, privacy assessments, compliance controls, and risk remediation for Holland & Knight LLP. This full-time onsite role is based in Tampa or Dallas.

Description

  • Support the firm's data protection programs and related operating procedures.
  • Perform client risk reviews, data protection impact assessments, and artificial intelligence assessments.
  • Investigate privacy and compliance matters, respond to inquiries, and support remediation.
  • Contribute to privacy and compliance initiatives covering privacy by design, data minimization, access controls, and personal information protection.
  • Create and help implement corrective action plans.
  • Review and audit firm processes that involve personal information.
  • Address internal audit findings and bring operational procedures into alignment with compliance obligations.
  • Prepare and maintain procedural documentation.
  • Contribute to data protection control strategy and administer privacy and security controls supporting regulatory and federal government requirements.
  • Provide privacy and compliance guidance to cross-functional teams and working groups.
  • Support the administrative and operational activities of the privacy and compliance program.
  • Complete special projects and other assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Two to four years of professional compliance experience, including familiarity with privacy and data protection.
  • Strong communication, research, and analytical capabilities.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a changing, regulated environment.
  • Skill in identifying risks and mitigation approaches while staying organized and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to explain critical program objectives and foster a privacy- and risk-aware culture.
  • Strong collaborative communication skills when working with clients, attorneys, cross-functional teams, leaders, and subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as iManage.
  • Preferred: knowledge of data protection principles.
  • Preferred: experience with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) programs.
  • Preferred: understanding of artificial intelligence privacy.
  • Preferred: experience in a law firm environment.
  • Preferred: an industry certification such as CCEP, CIPP, CIPM, or a comparable credential.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Moderate to advanced keyboarding ability.
