Industrial Generator Field Service Technician

Maintain and repair Caterpillar and Olympian power systems at customer sites in the Fort Worth area. The work includes engine, generator, and electrical troubleshooting.

Description

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on Olympian equipment to manufacturer specifications.
  • Service equipment at customer locations.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in gas and diesel engines and generator systems.
  • Complete routine system checks, supervised load-bank tests, and operational testing.
  • Support senior technicians in diagnosing fuel, cooling, and starting systems.
  • Carry out basic generator commissioning, start-ups, and automatic transfer switch integration.
  • Handle routine service calls and assist with emergency work outside regular hours.
  • Coordinate customer service requests, work orders, warranty and goodwill claims, and spare-parts administration.
  • Order Genuine Parts and tools, and communicate with customers and Olympian teams.
  • Prepare service orders for billing, gather invoices and labor records, and handle spare-parts returns.
  • Maintain service-shop records and share technical information.
  • Manage billing and close work orders in line with pricing and customer terms.
  • Assist with warehouse inventory tasks and audits.
  • Create service reports, inspection records, photographs, and job documentation folders.
  • Advise and train end customers and channel partners on technical matters.
  • Provide remote technical assistance to Olympian employees.
  • Prepare for work and follow up afterward; maintain company vehicles, tools, and spare parts.
  • Develop the ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically 1–3 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background, drug-screening, and medical requirements.
  • NFPA 70E and OSHA 10 safety qualifications are preferred.
  • Accuracy, organization, customer service skills, and willingness to travel.
  • Frequent standing and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Frequent lifting or moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes and safety glasses.
  • Travel of 70–90% locally and 20–30% outside the local area.
  • Availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and as needed around the clock.
  • Ability to pass a U.S. Government background check if required.
