Field Application Engineer – Spain (Remote)
Support installation, troubleshooting, training, and optimization of Cepheid GeneXpert molecular diagnostic systems. Serve customers across South Iberia through remote and field-based support, with regular travel.
Description
- Provide primarily post-sale support to customers
- Lead the installation, adoption, and optimization of Cepheid GeneXpert systems in clinical laboratories across the region
- Work with regional customers to improve system uptime, increase adoption, and strengthen the value of GeneXpert systems and assays
- Complete pre-installation site assessments
- Install instruments and configure software and connectivity
- Support customers throughout evaluation, post-launch, and assay-conversion phases
- Deliver assay training and deploy hardware, software, and connectivity updates
- Monitor customer sites and train users on system operation, software, reagents, and connectivity
- Handle reactive repairs, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, deinstallations, and equipment relocations
- Address customer issues and coordinate administrative and technical matters with internal functions
- Maintain spare-parts resources, including vehicle stock and inventory levels
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering or biology
- A bachelor’s degree combined with diagnostic-industry experience is advantageous
- Two to three years of experience in healthcare, biomedical work, medical devices, or laboratory customer support in the region
- Knowledge of the diagnostic market
- Fluency in the region’s local language
- Strong English proficiency
- Portuguese language skills are advantageous
- Willingness to travel and spend approximately 80% of the time in the field
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 27 kg
- Technical support and training experience with clinical diagnostics reagents and instrumentation is advantageous
- Existing relationships with customers in the territory are advantageous
