Experienced Spanish Interpreter (Latin America, Remote)
Provide consecutive English-Spanish interpretation remotely for medical, social service, customer care, and financial clients. Begin with over-the-phone interpreting and progress to video remote interpretation.
Description
- Deliver accurate consecutive interpretation, primarily in medical settings.
- Interpret for clients in social services, customer care, and finance.
- Maintain impartiality and protect confidential information.
- Begin in over-the-phone interpretation (OPI).
- Progress to video remote interpretation (VRI).
- Work remotely from Latin America.
Requirements
- At least 6–12 months of remote medical interpretation experience.
- C1-level English, demonstrated through EF SET 4-Skill, TOEFL, or CAE.
- ALTA 9+ or LanguageStat/PICSI 75%–80%+ certification issued in the past 12 months is preferred.
- Strong command of medical and customer service terminology.
- HIPAA and FWA certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
- Pass a background check.
- Use a wired Ethernet connection; Wi-Fi is not accepted.
- Use a USB noise-canceling headset.
- Have a computer running Windows 10 or later with at least 4 GB of RAM.
- Have access to a private, quiet workspace.
- Be proficient in English and Spanish.
- Be available to meet the monthly minimum for interpreted minutes.
