Auto Claims Adjuster – Remote in Quebec

Sedgwick is hiring a remote auto claims adjuster in Quebec to manage automobile insurance claims. The role covers claim investigations, coverage analysis, claimant communication, reporting, and settlement negotiations.

Description

  • Investigate automobile insurance claims for insurers or third parties
  • Collect and assess information related to reported losses
  • Determine applicable coverage and validate claims
  • Communicate with insured individuals and claimants throughout the claims process
  • Prepare claim reports and negotiate settlements
  • Keep clear, accurate records in internal computer systems
  • Interpret policy language and apply coverage provisions
  • Process billing for assigned files within required deadlines
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing clients
  • Complete ongoing training on industry matters, legislative updates, and emerging trends
  • Assess requirements and coordinate mandate assignments with field claims adjusters
  • Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Hold the claims adjuster license required in the applicable province
  • Obtain the required local-province license, or licenses covering multiple provinces, within six months of hire
  • Have a four-year university degree, equivalent relevant claims-handling experience, or a two-year college diploma in a related discipline
  • Be enrolled in the Chartered Insurance Professional program or hold the CIP designation
  • Hold a Quebec claims adjuster license issued by the AMF, or be eligible to obtain one
  • Commercial claims experience or a Quebec commercial claims adjuster license is a significant asset
  • Complete Sedgwick’s trainee program or have prior experience with a third-party administrator, field claims adjuster, or insurer
  • Have one to three years of experience managing and settling claims
  • Transportation or cargo claims experience is an asset
  • Demonstrate strong claims-handling, negotiation, and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based applications
