- Define, design, and develop scalable distributed systems
- Engineer and maintain dependable data systems for an analytics platform
- Work with Python, SQL, NoSQL databases, Apache Spark, dbt, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure services
- Translate product requirements into effective technical solutions
- Partner with teams across the development lifecycle
- Facilitate architecture discussions and code reviews
- Create and support reusable data components and engineering patterns
- Develop analytics capabilities that meet reporting requirements
- Coach and guide fellow engineers

- Apache Iceberg experience is advantageous
- Experience with Apache Airflow or comparable workflow-orchestration technology

- Knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and GraphQL
- Background in system architecture and design
- Advanced knowledge of DevOps practices, including Azure DevOps
- Experience implementing CI/CD
- Advanced PowerShell scripting proficiency
- Advanced knowledge of monitoring practices and tools
- Advanced knowledge of security protocols and products
- Deep understanding of computer science data structures and algorithms
- Knowledge of developer tools used throughout the data-development lifecycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting
- At least 4 years of professional experience in data engineering, programming, and big-data technologies
- At least 3 years of architecture and design experience
- At least 3 years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud platform
- At least 2 years of experience with big-data technologies such as Spark and Databricks
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or professional experience
