Field Service Technician – Commercial Roofing (Michigan, Remote)
Train roofing professionals, inspect commercial installations, and support quality assurance for IKO’s commercial roofing operations in Michigan. The role also covers product education, contractor relationships, and warranty investigations.

- Lead on-roof quality inspection training and in-shop instruction for new Technical Services employees
- Act as IKO’s primary contact for contractors supporting its US commercial roofing division
- Inspect warrantied IKO installations to verify workmanship and quality standards
- Teach new Field Service Technicians approved on-roof inspection and contractor-training methods
- Provide the Technical Manager, Single Ply Systems, with trainee progress and performance updates
- Coordinate with commercial contractors while inspecting active and completed roofing projects
- Develop and deliver classroom and practical training on commercial products for current and prospective Registered Contractors
- Create written inspection and quality assurance reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with contractors and distributors on product education and promotion
- Investigate warranty claims as needed
- Represent IKO Commercial products at relevant industry association events
- Participate in required internal meetings, company events, and employer-sponsored training
- Follow applicable health, safety, and IKO vehicle policies
- Handle additional duties as assigned
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least three years of hands-on experience in commercial roofing
- In-depth experience training others on TPO and PVC single-ply roofing methods under established standards
- Background in roofing quality assurance and contractor-led roof inspections
- Ability to interpret technical roofing documents and specifications
- Confidence demonstrating product applications and presenting technical information in practical or formal settings
- Proven ability to train both individuals and groups in single-ply roofing
- Strong commitment to quality workmanship and long-term customer relationships
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with contractors and explain the value of IKO commercial products
- Flexibility when priorities and responsibilities change
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight trips
- Frequent travel and job-site visits may be required
