Senior Event Manager (6-Month Contract)

Lead regional and global conferences, summits, and executive events at QS, a global higher education services and analytics organisation.

Tavsif

  • Lead the strategic planning and delivery of regional and global event portfolios.
  • Manage conferences, summits, exhibitions, awards, forums, and executive events from planning through completion.
  • Introduce event formats, technologies, and engagement approaches that improve attendee experience.
  • Build relationships with universities, sponsors, speakers, industry leaders, and strategic partners.
  • Support negotiations and relationship development with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Shape event strategies to support business goals, organisational growth, and brand positioning.
  • Work with Marketing, Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Operations teams.
  • Oversee event budgets, forecasts, financial results, and return on investment.
  • Set up risk management, governance, and contingency planning frameworks.
  • Direct crisis response and resolve issues as needed.
  • Review event data and stakeholder feedback to improve future delivery.
  • Create consistent processes, best practices, and operational frameworks across the portfolio.
  • Track industry developments, competitor activity, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide events expertise and help build capability across the function.
  • Carry out other duties within the role's scope and responsibilities.

Talablar

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Substantial experience managing large conferences, exhibitions, summits, forums, or executive events, preferably across regional or international markets.
  • Experience overseeing several complex projects at once, with strong attention to detail and stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience creating and delivering event strategies that increase audience engagement, support commercial goals, and produce measurable business results.
  • Experience partnering with commercial and sales teams on sponsorship discussions, client engagement, and tailored partnership opportunities.
  • Experience managing resources, budgets, and onsite staff.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, including the ability to influence and engage senior leaders, sponsors, speakers, and external partners.
  • Ability to lead and develop effective teams in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong analytical ability and experience using event data and insights to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, including confidence presenting to senior audiences and representing an organisation externally.
  • Highly organised, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to handle competing priorities and uncertainty.
  • Creative, solutions-oriented approach and interest in innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours when needed.
