BI and Analytics Engineering Specialist

Helppi is seeking a BI and Analytics Engineering Specialist to build structured data models, define governed metrics, and improve self-service analytics. The role is remote in Brazil and focuses on SQL, data modeling, and BI architecture.

Tavsif

  • Make BI models and data layers more structured, reusable, and consistent.
  • Turn business concepts and metrics into reliable, documented, governed definitions.
  • Help advance the BI architecture and technology stack.
  • Develop and improve the Business Layer, Semantic Layer, and metric models.
  • Make data easier for teams to access, explore, and use independently.
  • Work with technology and business teams to turn needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Help define and improve BI processes, standards, and practices.
  • Use SQL, data modeling, and analytics in hands-on work.
  • Explore AI, agents, and emerging technologies for interacting with analytics data.
  • Replace one-off solutions with information that is reusable, governed, and reliable.
  • Assess current data, BI, metrics, and business-team challenges.
  • Identify duplicated logic, inconsistent metrics, and overdependence on queries.
  • Set standards for data models, metrics, and governance.
  • Help evolve the BI architecture and stack.
  • Find opportunities to simplify solutions and reuse existing work.
  • Increase business teams’ independence in using data over time.
  • Serve as an internal technical resource for BI and Analytics.

Talablar

  • Substantial experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Analytics Engineering.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling.
  • Experience creating or working with analytical layers, data marts, or comparable structures.
  • Ability to turn business rules into reusable data models.
  • Familiarity with Git and code-based development.
  • Strong analytical ability and systems thinking.
  • Comfort working across technical discussions and business problems.
  • Ability to work independently, frame problems, and implement solutions.
  • Curiosity and openness to learning new architectures, tools, and technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Analytics Engineering experience; dbt or similar approaches; Semantic or Metrics Layers; Looker, Metabase, Cube, or comparable tools; Python for data and analytics; self-service analytics; metric governance or KPI design; experience building or advancing a BI or Analytics function; APIs and data integrations; AI for data, LLMs, agents, or MCP; or experience at startups or high-growth companies.
  • A graduate degree or specialization in Data, Analytics, BI, Data Engineering, or a related area is an advantage.
