Relationship Manager – Red Deer, Alberta (Hybrid)

Support international students, host families, and schools through the Canada Homestay Network. This role manages local homestays, builds cultural connections, and responds to student and host needs.

Descriere

  • Oversee relationships among internal and external stakeholders
  • Help homestay hosts, students’ natural parents, and students understand cultural practices and differences
  • Organize and deliver in-person host training and orientations for hosts and newly arrived students
  • Communicate clearly and keep records accurate and up to date
  • Foster a supportive local community of host families
  • Maintain student and host-family relationships throughout each program
  • Respond promptly and compassionately to crises, referring matters to health professionals when appropriate
  • Conduct in-person intake activities and attend school meetings
  • Provide custodianship for local students under 18 when required, within a radius of up to 100 km
  • Travel across the local community and nearby areas, including Sylvan Lake, Olds, and Carstairs
  • Welcome new students and resolve academic or social concerns with schools and host families
  • Explain homestay responsibilities to Canadian hosts
  • Help expand and strengthen the homestay network

Cerințe

  • At least two years of experience in homestay services or a related field
  • A one-year Community College Certificate or Diploma
  • International experience, such as hosting students or travelling abroad, is preferred
  • Event-planning skills and confidence with public speaking
  • Sound judgment, strong decision-making, and a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that may involve significant stress
  • Exceptional customer service experience and skills
  • Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, email, and database systems
  • Confident English communication skills; a second language is an asset
  • Excellent organization and the ability to remain accountable while working independently
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
  • A full and valid driver’s licence
  • A reliable vehicle with at least $2 million in automobile liability coverage
  • Ability to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
