Descriere

  • Set the long-term direction for Ford’s cloud database and analytics platforms.
  • Promote platform engineering through self-service APIs, golden paths, paved roads, and clear service-level objectives.
  • Define and manage database and analytics infrastructure as version-controlled, testable code.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a global team of platform engineers, architects, and site reliability engineers.
  • Design and run Google Cloud database platforms using Cloud SQL, Spanner, AlloyDB, Bigtable, and Firestore.
  • Lead platform engineering for BigQuery and Ford’s wider analytics stack.
  • Develop governed self-service data pipelines and reusable analytics tools.
  • Build golden-path templates, service APIs, and infrastructure-as-code automation.
  • Direct Ford’s cloud database-as-a-service strategy.
  • Establish database architecture patterns that guide technology choices to fit specific needs.
  • Work with Product Development Organizations on design reviews, reference architectures, and reusable templates.
  • Lead company-wide SaaS database consolidation and cost reduction.
  • Oversee platform lifecycles, including versioning, patching, upgrades, end-of-life tracking, and retirement.
  • Manage vendor contracts and negotiate enterprise agreements.
  • Set Ford’s strategy for an agentic data cloud.
  • Develop patterns for database MCP servers.
  • Lead Knowledge Catalog deployment and Conversational Analytics rollout.
  • Set safeguards and human review controls in line with Ford’s Agentic AI Rubric.
  • Partner with Google product and engineering teams on proof-of-concept designs and service launch frameworks.

Cerințe

  • Bring 15 or more years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, and data platform services, including substantial leadership work.
  • Have led platform engineering for large-scale GCP database and analytics environments, including Cloud SQL, Spanner, AlloyDB, Bigtable, Firestore, and BigQuery.
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools and practices.
  • Have direct experience with SaaS database platforms such as MongoDB, Neo4j, Elastic, and Redis.
  • Have experience delivering enterprise-scale consolidation and cost optimization.
  • Show a track record of owning DBaaS and defining fit-for-purpose database architecture patterns adopted by application or product teams.
  • Have experience with agentic AI and data platform concepts, including MCP servers, Knowledge Catalog, Conversational Analytics, and AI governance frameworks.
  • Bring a strong background in DevOps and SRE practices, automation, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • A master’s degree is preferred.
