Lead machine learning pipelines and recommendation systems for Mapbox’s navigation platform. Improve routing cost models, geospatial algorithms, and large scale data infrastructure.

- Lead end to end feature delivery across Navigation engineering teams
- Design and develop machine learning and data pipelines
- Improve existing machine learning and data pipelines
- Develop tools for automated quality checks and data exploration
- Apply geospatial algorithms to improve pipeline performance
- Develop automated tuning and outlier detection algorithms
- Work with data scientists to improve movement and traffic pattern models
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to code and design reviews
- Take part in an on call rotation to maintain 24/7 system availability
Prasības
- Bring 8–10 or more years of backend and machine learning experience
- Have extensive experience with Python
- Have experience with distributed processing pipelines, including Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, and Dask
- Have experience working with very large datasets, including statistical analysis, data quality control, and storage optimization
- Bring extensive experience with cloud and infrastructure services, including deploying and managing cloud infrastructure
- Have experience mentoring colleagues and leading engineering teams
- Communicate effectively in writing and speech
- Collaborate with security, DevOps, data, compliance, and product teams
- Be able to join a 24/7 on call rotation, including possible weekend and after hours responses
