Data Analytics Engineer — Visma, Hybrid in Portugal
Build dbt and BigQuery models, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows for Visma’s business software ecosystem. Help deliver trusted, governed data for analytics and decision-making.
Apraksts
- Create and maintain dimensional models and SQL/dbt pipelines in BigQuery.
- Profile, clean, and validate data before publication.
- Maintain dbt tests to protect data quality.
- Help shape and adopt a semantic or metrics layer for governed self-service analytics.
- Monitor pipeline health and alerts, resolve failures, and reduce technical debt.
- Develop and maintain reliable dashboards in Data Studio.
- Conduct descriptive, diagnostic, and statistical analysis.
- Work with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to establish consistent metrics and reusable models.
- Guide colleagues in analytics best practices.
- Apply Claude and other AI tools to code generation, review, documentation, debugging, and testing.
- Explore and pilot AI-based analysis, natural-language queries, and agentic data workflows.
- Assess AI tools and encourage responsible use.
- Contribute as a developer on a Scrum team using Git/GitHub, code review, and CI/CD.
- Turn user stories and requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.
- Keep technical documentation and release records current; record bugs and improvement ideas in Jira.
- Help improve team processes continuously.
- Follow data governance, access control, classification, and handling practices in accordance with GDPR.
Prasības
- Experience as an analytics engineer, data analyst, or in a comparable data modelling and visualisation role.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Practical experience with dbt.
- Hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery.
- Experience with Data Studio or a comparable BI visualisation tool.
- Comfort using Git/GitHub workflows, including branches, pull requests, and code review.
- Analytical and statistical skills for data profiling, validation, and problem-solving.
- Production experience developing and maintaining dbt projects, including models, tests, documentation, and macros.
- Active, practical use of AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT in technical work.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk.
- Commitment to data security.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and expectations.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Legal authorisation to work in Portugal, with a valid work permit or authorisation that does not require employer-sponsored visa support.
- Bonus: experience in a large, multi-product organisation with distributed data ownership.
- Bonus: familiarity with data governance, data contracts, or semantic/metrics layer tools.
