- Lead the engineering team across technical direction and organizational responsibilities
- Set clear priorities, clarify ownership, and drive reliable execution
- Make architecture decisions, review code, shape technical concepts, and implement solutions directly
- Turn business needs into practical technical delivery plans
- Maintain clear visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies
- Partner closely with Product, Business, and executive leadership
- Represent Engineering in important cross-functional decisions
- Hold regular 1:1s, give actionable feedback, and support developers’ professional and personal growth
- Build effective development processes, release practices, team rituals, and incident-response workflows
- Contribute to hiring, team development, and a strong engineering culture
- Challenge requirements thoughtfully while keeping technical feasibility central to prioritization

- Bring at least five years of professional software development experience
- Have led developers or provided technical direction in a role such as Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, Senior Engineer with team responsibility, Founding Engineer, or an equivalent position
- Remain willing to contribute technically through hands-on engineering work
- Understand modern backend architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and production-ready software development
- Experience with Python or similar backend technologies is helpful but not mandatory
- Experience with AI products, automation, data-driven workflows, or modern AI integrations is advantageous
- Communicate clearly and reliably with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrate sound judgment and take ownership of execution
- Be fluent in German and English
