Data Architect – Hybrid in Washington, DC
Design secure, scalable cloud database architectures for Dynanet Corporation’s enterprise, AI, and LLM workloads. Lead relational, NoSQL, and vector database strategy across end-to-end systems.

- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions using relational, NoSQL, and vector database technologies
- Create and refine data models, schemas, indexes, and storage patterns for scale and performance
- Build and operate vector databases for similarity search, recommendations, and AI inference
- Partner with AI/ML, application, and platform engineering teams on integrated data systems
- Maintain availability, disaster recovery, security, and compliance across database platforms
- Improve cloud database cost efficiency, performance, and operational reliability
- Set up monitoring, alerting, backups, and automation for database operations
- Offer technical direction, documentation, and database best practices to engineering teams
- Assess evolving requirements and recommend suitable database technologies and cloud services
- Handle team and client requests through email, Microsoft Teams, or other channels during core business hours

- At least five years of hands-on experience designing and supporting database systems
- Five to eight years of strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or Amazon Aurora
- Advanced SQL skills with a solid grasp of query optimization and performance tuning
- Knowledge of data security, encryption, access controls, and compliance obligations
- Ability to convert business and application needs into scalable data architectures
- Experience applying DevOps or DataOps practices
- Experience with LLM platforms, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, or Hugging Face
- Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase
- Practical experience with vector databases and similarity search, including Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, pgvector, or OpenSearch/Elastic vector search
- Experience supporting AI and LLM applications involving embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, and inference pipelines
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple competing priorities
- Professional, collaborative communication with teammates, clients, and business partners
- Sound judgment and creative problem-solving ability
- Active listening and effective collaboration skills
- Availability to respond to requests during core business hours
