Senior Software Engineer, Protocol Operations and Trust

Description

  • Lead delivery of simulation test suites for autonomous-vehicle software
  • Create and maintain tests at scale with partner teams’ test-generation tools
  • Develop orchestration services and pipelines that connect incoming requests with test execution
  • Automate and standardize test creation and ongoing maintenance
  • Integrate partner evaluation systems to support test development, triage, and retirement
  • Collaborate with Autonomy, Systems, Safety, and customer teams to convert testing needs into tools, interfaces, and automation
  • Maintain software quality and architectural standards through code reviews and technical leadership
  • Coach engineers in software development and simulation-testing practices
  • Use AI-assisted development tools and analytics platforms to improve engineering workflows
  • Take ownership of unclear problem areas and advance prototypes into production systems
  • Work with urgency while preserving strong engineering standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least five years designing, developing, and operating production software, backend services, data platforms, or infrastructure systems
  • Advanced Python skills covering production code, unit testing, code review, debugging, and reliability practices
  • Background building scalable backend services, APIs, microservices, workflow orchestration, or internal engineering platforms
  • Experience operating cloud-based production systems, including deployment, observability, performance, and reliability
  • Experience designing or running data pipelines and processing systems with SQL, NoSQL, and related technologies for large-scale operational, telemetry, or time-series data
  • Experience developing automated tests, validation checks, quality controls, CI/CD pipelines, or release workflows
  • Ability to author high-level technical designs and lead execution across multiple teams
  • Clear communicator who can turn ambiguous technical challenges into practical, maintainable solutions
  • Demonstrated ownership, adaptability, and effectiveness in changing technical environments
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, simulation, evaluation systems, or other complex software platforms
  • Experience creating automated test-generation, test-execution, or workflow-orchestration systems
  • Experience defining human-in-the-loop or automated quality processes and release-management systems requiring reproducibility and traceability
  • Experience developing systems for data processing, querying, analysis, anomaly detection, or issue triage
  • Experience with observability, time-series analysis, performance monitoring, dashboards, or operational analytics
  • Experience developing safety-critical, mission-critical, or highly reliable products
  • Familiarity with simulation validation, test-quality metrics, human-in-the-loop evaluation, or feedback-driven quality improvement
  • Experience with cloud-native deployment, infrastructure as code, containerization, or distributed systems
