Senior Product Compliance Manager — MKS Instruments, South Korea

Lead product certification audits, regulatory controls, and manufacturing-site compliance across MKS locations in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, laboratories, and certification bodies to maintain compliance and close audit findings.

Description

  • Lead product compliance audits and certification surveillance at assigned MKS manufacturing sites.
  • Coordinate corporate compliance, quality, manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, supplier quality, laboratories, and certification bodies.
  • Assign action owners, deadlines, escalation routes, and measurable deliverables.
  • Report to the Director of Product Compliance.
  • Manage product compliance audits and certification activities for assigned manufacturing sites.
  • Prepare for third-party audits, oversee their execution, close findings on time, and maintain controls for certified products.
  • Set audit deliverables and keep cross-functional teams and suppliers accountable for agreed deadlines.
  • Escalate missed commitments and ensure gaps are addressed before audits.
  • Oversee compliance-critical manufacturing controls, including receiving inspection, calibration, production test records, document control, engineering and manufacturing change control, and CCL-related product transfers.
  • Assess changes for certification impact and complete agency notifications and technical reviews before implementation.
  • Maintain working relationships with MKS compliance teams, third-party laboratories, NRTLs and certification bodies, inspectors, and technical reviewers.
  • Plan and manage assigned third-party audits, certifications, and related services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in product compliance, certification, quality, manufacturing, or regulatory engineering.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams and drive work through completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of product safety and EMC/EMI standards, including IEC/UL/EN 61010-1, IEC/EN 61326-1, IEC/EN 60825-1, applicable IEC 61000 series standards, and SEMI S2.
  • Working knowledge of global product compliance frameworks and regulations, including CE marking, LVD, EMC, FCC, NRTL certifications, UKCA, KC, RoHS, REACH, and China RoHS.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality-system controls used in certification audits.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal auditing principles.
  • Strong program management skills.
  • Availability for approximately 30% domestic and international travel.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, laboratory, and supplier settings while following site safety and PPE requirements.
  • Some positions may require eligibility to access controlled goods and technologies subject to export controls.
  • Background checks and drug screening are conducted in accordance with applicable law and company policies.
