Description

  • Lead testing strategy for TD’s production-like infrastructure, with emphasis on automation and scale.
  • Establish and apply performance-testing practices for scalable, reliable services across engineering teams.
  • Serve as a performance and scalability subject matter expert and collaborate with engineering teams.
  • Advance performance frameworks, tools, and processes to support current best practices and scalability goals.
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis of performance incidents and define preventive actions.
  • Find performance bottlenecks and develop repeatable improvement processes.
  • Champion performance testing and guide teams on appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Help shape technical vision and architecture with performance requirements in mind.
  • Communicate and collaborate across organizational levels, functions, and boundaries.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers.
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives as required.
  • Apply domain expertise to new product requests and collaborate with internal and external architects.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • At least six years of experience leading performance test engineering.
  • At least five years of experience testing and monitoring web application performance.
  • Ability to program in a supported language using standard practices such as unit testing and iterative development.
  • Strong knowledge of network and edge technologies.
  • Excellent Linux fundamentals and the ability to diagnose system utilization.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including the ability to influence others.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for performance testing.
  • Experience developing and automating performance test frameworks.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems and high-volume data environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure as a service, particularly Azure.
  • Experience with container-based service schedulers such as Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with some of MySQL, Java, Python, JMeter, Splunk, Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
