- Develop machine learning solutions for personalization, product, and business challenges.
- Turn ambiguous opportunities into scalable models, experiments, and production capabilities.
- Lead scientific work from problem definition and data exploration through feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and iteration.
- Work with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate machine learning into services and workflows.
- Contribute to system and API design and data modeling where relevant.
- Choose suitable methods, validate results, and improve model performance, reliability, and operational quality.
- Integrate and operate AI and machine learning solutions safely to improve outcomes.
- Share expertise through experiments, documentation, mentoring, and reusable methods.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- At least eight years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of machine learning solutions at the service or multi-service level, from problem definition and model development to evaluation and operationalization.
- Strong grounding in machine learning methods, statistical analysis, experimentation, and data-informed decision-making.
- Practical coding experience in scientific and production settings.
- Experience partnering across functions to deploy technical solutions.
- Experience developing scalable models, modeling data, and integrating solutions into software systems.
- Preferred: an advanced degree in machine learning, computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or another quantitative field.
- Preferred: experience delivering machine learning solutions at scale, including architecture, production monitoring, model lifecycle management, and operational excellence.
- Preferred: experience with recommendation, ranking, retrieval, search, personalization, advertising, marketplaces, e-commerce, or similarly complex applied machine learning systems.
- Preferred: experience with neural recommendation systems, sequential or session-based recommendations, transformer-based recommenders, semantic or generative retrieval, or large-scale representation learning.
- Preferred: experience with foundation models, large language models, embedding models, semantic IDs, hybrid LLM-recommender systems, two-stage retrieval and ranking, or retrieval-augmented personalization workflows.
- Preferred: contributions to the machine learning or recommender-systems community, such as academic publications, patents, open-source projects, technical blog posts, or industry talks.
