Senior Contracts Manager, RTX - Iowa Remote

Lead end-to-end contracting for Collins Aerospace’s JPALS defense program, from proposals and negotiations through administration and closeout. Manage contractual risk, customer relationships, and cross-functional support in a remote Iowa role.

Description

  • Own contracts across their full lifecycle, from proposal development and negotiation through administration and closeout
  • Engage customers and oversee contract changes
  • Coordinate invoicing while ensuring compliance with company policy, legal obligations, and customer specifications
  • Interpret program performance requirements and use commercial expertise to guide decisions aligned with program and financial goals
  • Partner with program leadership, the Office of General Counsel, and cross-functional colleagues
  • Contribute to gate reviews, program reviews, strategy meetings, proposal reviews, risk management, and other contract-related activities
  • Create practical solutions for contractual issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Control contractual scope, terms, and conditions
  • Evaluate RFPs, prepare and review proposals, coordinate negotiations, execute agreements, and administer resulting contracts
  • Research and resolve complex contract issues through critical analysis, thorough information gathering, inventive contracting approaches, and stakeholder engagement
  • Advise on contractual rights, obligations, regulations, and procedures to reduce risk and prevent unauthorized changes
  • Handle both routine and complex contract and proposal work, including urgent emerging requests
  • Provide contract support for the JPALS program within the Resilient Connectivity Products Portfolio

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience
  • Hold or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance; an active clearance is required after the first day
  • U.S. citizenship is required because security clearance eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens
  • Background with U.S. Government fixed-price and cost-type contracts governed by FAR and DFARS
  • Experience serving as a Contracts Lead or leading customer contract negotiations
  • Experience with the Truth in Negotiations Act process
  • Experience negotiating and administering complex proposals and contracts preferred
  • Strong interpersonal ability when collaborating with internal and external stakeholders preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build respectful, trust-based relationships with internal and external customers preferred
  • Experience working with DCAA and DCMA on proposal reviews, audits, and fact-finding preferred
  • Limited domestic travel required
