Senior Analytics Engineer, Finance Data (Canada Remote)

Lead Lime’s finance-grade data warehouse and semantic layer as a senior analytics engineer. Build governed, audit-ready reporting for a global shared micromobility business.

Description

  • Shape the long-term architecture for Lime’s Corporate Data Warehouse
  • Develop a scalable finance-grade semantic layer for Finance, Accounting, and Corp Tech analytics
  • Lead finance data modeling across NetSuite, sub-ledgers, and core business systems
  • Establish standards for dbt models, SQL style, CI/CD, documentation, and automated testing
  • Create datasets that support month-end close reconciliation and audit activities
  • Develop control totals, roll-forwards, sub-ledger-to-GL tie-outs, variance analysis, and clear data lineage
  • Maintain governance and controls for ownership, glossaries, lineage, change management, access patterns, and data quality
  • Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Operations stakeholders
  • Support close processes, audit evidence requirements, and stakeholder confidence in reporting
  • Assess and integrate orchestration and automation across ingestion, transformation, and reporting pipelines
  • Deliver alerting, observability, and SLA monitoring capabilities
  • Coach Analytics Engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing sessions
  • Report to the Corp Tech Analytics Manager within Enterprise Engineering

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • At least five years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing
  • Proven experience designing architectures for fast-growing organizations
  • Strong backend engineering judgment, including data contracts, idempotency, late-arriving data, reprocessing, control totals, and lineage
  • Ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at Director and VP levels
  • At least five years building and scaling cloud data platforms, preferably on AWS
  • Extensive production experience with Snowflake
  • Expert proficiency in high-performance SQL
  • Strong Python skills for transformation, tooling, and automation
  • Advanced dbt expertise, including macros, packages, performance techniques, and project organization
  • Experience with dimensional modeling, ELT pipeline development, and semantic layer architecture
  • Experience using workflow orchestration platforms such as Airflow
  • Experience implementing CI/CD for data pipelines, versioned schemas, automated tests, code review practices, and release management
  • Experience applying reliability and observability practices
  • Experience with data governance tools and methods, including cataloging, lineage, PII masking, and role-based access control
  • Working knowledge of Spark, Flink, or Kafka and CDC or ingestion patterns
  • Experience with Iceberg, Debezium, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Understanding of ERP fundamentals; NetSuite experience is preferred
  • Comfort working with general ledger and sub-ledger complexity, including sub-ledger-to-GL reconciliation
  • Knowledge of revenue, COGS, asset balances, depreciation, accruals, and month-end close KPIs
  • Knowledge of fixed assets and FAM, including asset lifecycle data, depreciation logic, resets, adjustments, roll-forwards, and auditability
  • Experience producing reconciliation-ready datasets for close and audit support
  • Familiarity with planning platforms such as Anaplan
  • Experience operating under strict internal controls, including SOX, audit readiness, IPO readiness, or other regulated environments
  • Ability to work directly with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Operations
  • Candidates must live in Canada
