Resident Network Engineer, Canada (Hybrid)

Deliver onsite implementations and technical support for Extreme Networks’ cloud-driven networking customers in Canada. Serve as a trusted advisor across networking, security, and troubleshooting.

Description

  • Provide dedicated technical support to an assigned customer.
  • Support onsite project implementation activities.
  • Apply Extreme Networks’ PDIO (Plan, Design, Implement, Operate) methodology.
  • Develop and maintain implementation project documentation.
  • Lead technical activities and advise the customer throughout delivery.
  • Coordinate implementation efforts between the sales team and customer.
  • Collaborate with Extreme partners and sales staff to deploy sold solutions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Extreme Networks product suites.
  • Coach and mentor customers and Extreme partners.
  • Escalate customer issues to management promptly.
  • Deliver high-quality support across Extreme Networks product suites.
  • Verify that network implementations satisfy customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bring at least six years of networking experience, with strong industry and regional expertise.
  • Implement Extreme products and solutions in mission-critical environments during scheduled or zero downtime.
  • Have at least four years of experience designing, implementing, and analyzing network and systems security.
  • Use security-focused tools effectively in hands-on environments.
  • Demonstrate strong network troubleshooting and problem-resolution capabilities.
  • Analyze customer requirements and position suitable Extreme solutions.
  • Manage complex customer relationships and set expectations effectively.
  • Communicate clearly through interpersonal interactions and technical presentations.
  • Contribute effectively as a collaborative team member.
  • Work independently with initiative and limited supervision.
  • Hold an Extreme ECP certification.
  • Have three or more years of experience with at least four of these technologies: Extreme Campus Fabric, ExtremeCloud IQ-Site Engine, Extreme Network Access Control, IDS/IPS, wireless, IPv4/IPv6, or routing protocols.
  • Hold a B.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or offer equivalent professional experience.
  • Network certifications such as ECP, CISSP, CCIE, or CWTS are preferred.
